From a single room to thousands treated.

The centre opened on  9 September 1999  in a single small room near Marudhamalai. What began as a modest act of service soon drew people from far beyond Coimbatore — many of them living with pain that other treatments had not been able to relieve.

As word spread and more people found relief, the centre moved into a permanent home on
23 January 2003 , in Vivekananda Nagar, I.O.B. Colony. It was inaugurated by  Thiru. Srinivasan, I.A.S., then secretary to the former President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma.

Since then, thousands of people have walked through its doors. The work is still carried out in the same spirit it started with — patient, personal, and offered as service first.

Our Story
1999

Founded near Marudhamalai, in the tradition of the sage Bogar.

2003

A permanent clinic opens in Vivekananda Nagar, inaugurated by Thiru. Srinivasan, I.A.S.

Today

Thousands treated. Outpatient care continues six days a week for people of all ages.

Pain has a source. So does relief.

In the Varma tradition, pain often takes hold when a vital point in the body is injured or disturbed, restricting natural movement. The work here is to find that point and ease it — nothing more, and nothing that isn't needed.

Our Belief

“However long-standing the pain, and whatever its cause, the aim is to ease it at the point where it begins.”

About the Founder

M. Lakshmanan  did not learn Varma therapy from a textbook. He learned it at home — trained from about the age of five by his grandmother and mother, in a healing tradition his family had carried for generations, with its roots in Kerala.

For many years he treated people quietly and without charge, offering care to those who came to him. In 1999 he opened Bogar Vali Neeku Nilayam so that this knowledge could reach more people who were living with pain.

Today he continues to see patients himself, reading each person's pulse and treating them by hand — the same way the practice has always been passed down.
